Yes We Can.

I know I’m a day late and a dollar short but there’s not a lot that could keep me down at the moment. I tried to keep it at least toned down on the blog but as a serious Obama supporter, I feel like I need to share the fact that I woke up this morning and words like hope, freedom, patriotism and the like didn’t make me cringe like they have for the last 8 years.

Not only that but while I was in Chicago last night, I was not in Grant Park. Instead I spent my evening with the two pictured above. Jaimeson made an incredible dinner for his brother, mom and me and all I did was play with Penelope, a 10 wk old English bulldog pup. Part of me did feel drawn to downtown and I am LOVING hearing about everyone’s experiences there.

However, for me, it just doesn’t get a whole lot better than a bottle of wine, a puppy and Jaimeson making dinner while we watch our country change on CNN. That’s what it felt like. The country is changing because we are asking it to and we are demanding that it does and for a generation of people that have been paralyzed by a cocktail of helplessness and apathy, it feels like we’re making a real run for it.

Congratulations to all of us and may you feel in your own towns some of the buzz of good nature emanating off Chicago today.

Upcoming Post: Not the Only Spatula-slinger in Town (Jaimeson’s Chicken Milanese on an Arugula/Basil salad with Greek Green Beans)

Your night sounds so nice and cozy! I watched the Grant Park rally on TV and could not imagine having been there. It looked like Times Square on New Years, maybe more packed!

Sounds like a lovely way for you to celebrate the big win. And just think - years from now you'll still remember the people you spent that time with. Might as well be people of meaning!

Sweets and I spent the night on our couch with our lil SoMi.

Thanks Ladies! It was a lovely, tasty night. Seriously smelled like heaven complete with frying chicken, cinnamon, garlic, onions, cheese, puppy, pie, butter, baking bread and men's shaving cream. And then he won. And we won too.
