This post is actually about a week late but it took me a bit to upload the pics. My latest initiative is to try an see as many of my friends as possible in their work habitats. Aren't you curious about where your buddies are spending 40 (sometimes 60) hours of the week??
I kicked this off in Rogers Park at Abby (aka Ms. Alley)'s 1st grade class. I love Halloween and the idea of getting to use my lunch break to read a book, pass out a little candy and draw sounded like a pretty good deal. We read "There's a Nightmare in My Closet" by Mercer Mayer. Seriously- how cute are they??
Abby has the "Shhh" technique mastered but I eventually got them to a dull roar:)
On Sunday was visit#2 to Caroline's new office space in Lake Forest. Caro is working with CROYA, a leadership organization for kids in the North Suburbs. This place is stocked. Recording Studio, Dance Studio, Pool Tables, Fooseball... not a bad place to be 13. Which is great because 13 is hard enough to be anywhere.
On that note, who's next?

come to my office, you can sit among a pile of workpaper boxes and listen to me type on a keyboard in excel. it's gonna be AWESOME!!
...and after you go to Camilles office, you can see the exact same thing at mine. haha! ...at least Cam's will have a bouquette of flowers beside it though! :)
Very cool idea.
It seems you picked a good day to visit the classroom. Halloween was always a fun day... unless you dressed as a vampire only to find out there were three other, and better done, vampires in your class. Not that that ever happened to me or anything...
Cam is a very lucky girl and Taylor is getting wise- can't wait to meet the man behind the flowers!
Mar, if i needed to visit your office I would just join your team for happy hour. I feel like that is the natural environment and showing up in the office itself would compromise the inegrity of this entire project because it would not capture you in your naturally employed habitat.
Jon- I'm so sorry. Although I think some manner of feeling alienated by a more Nosferatu-inclined society probably gave YOUR vampire guise that finishing touch of cast-out vulnerability. Or maybe just more blood next time? I tried to be a vampire this year and put my fangs in wrong. Maybe next year we'll both get it right.
I work at Radio Flyer, the place with a giant red wagon outside of the building. My office is pretty empty though. I'm an assistant to the executives and they never know where to put me. I'm always being bounced around.
Jenn- I know you're not the only person who's ever been bounced around in a little red wagon. Although, that said, at my first opportunity I want a photo op in front of the giant one!!
