This is not an obscene amount of snow in Chicago. It's a LOT but not unheard of. What is unheard of? That I've been looking for the house shovel since 5:15am. My landlord is amazing and is awesome about keeping the front walk shoveled but I need to dig my car out in the back. Something that strikes me as a workout in and of itself on the way to the gym.
Ugh. Guess I will be having a yoga morning. Not all bad...that extra 2 hours of sleep will put me at 10 hours. Now THAT'S obscene.

Yeah, today is definitely a snow day. I left work early yesterday to avoid bad evening commute. And when I saw my major South Loop street wasn't even plowed this morning, I knew the commute would be terrible. It's nice to be able to work from home. :-)
PS - I come to you by way of D-Blogged
10 hours of sleep!? How I envy you! :)
10 hours? that's like two nights for me.
hi nilsa!
What I wouldn't give for 10 hours of sleep right now...
I had to go to work. I got stuck on the side streets near Chicago and Ashland. I will have to dig myself out of the stupid spot I parked in.
I wish I could have stayed home!
Nilsa: Welcome Welcome! And I totally feel you on the side streets. I may have gotten out of my workout this morning but I did not get out of work work. After 20 minutes of trying to dig my car out (shovel having appeared), it became apparent that should I even get a clear space around it, there would be NOWHERE to go because Wood hadn't even been cleared yet, let alone the alleys around the house. So I waited 20 minutes for the bus then snagged a cab only to show up 25 minutes late...but rested!
I'm WAY jealous of your home office. Please send fleecey PJ pant karma to the rest of us soggy office stiffs:)
PS Well then that makes us both fans of the D!
FF: I can't even help but be stunned myself. I was pretty exhausted last night and so I forced myself under the covers with Dan Savage's portion of The New Kings of Nonfiction and fell asleep just before 10. 3.5 hours earlier than the norm. I woke up at 4 thinking, "That seems like the usual amount of sleep." But noooo:)
D: You and me both, brother. I've been averaging 5.5, but I gotta say, I am feeling good at the moment. It felt a little taboo getting in bed that early. I was all giggly at the idea that, yes, I really could get in bed and take my time falling asleep. This may become a habit because it was delicious.
Angela: Maybe tonight? Something to look forward to...only it's Friday night and you may be feeling fine so can't really blame you if the 10 hours is 4am to 2pm:)
Jamie: Ugh. I mean seriously...you know we're in bad shape when ASHLAND is messy. I also have a conspiracy theory that the city plows ignore everything west of Ashland because they think it's funny to watch all the hipsters in leggings and ballet flats skid around while digging their cars out. I'm not hip enough to be a hipster but I'm probably still funny to watch.
Time to call the salt man from Home Alone
What a crappy ass day. Not a TON of snow, but enough to be effing annoying.
10 hours of sleep? That sounds like a good start!
