What's Your Type?

Are you more compelled by a croissant or a scone with your coffee? Do you even drink coffee? What's your favorite kind of coffee? Do you take it with milk or soy? Sugar or Splenda? Cup or Carafe?

Do you pack your bags two days ahead of an early morning flight, do a little fashion show with your various ensembles or fold those shirts on box tops to keep them straight? Or, knowing you likely won't sleep anyway, zombie-zip that last parcel as you head out the door?

What is your comfort food? What was your favorite Halloween costume? And if you hate Halloween, how is that even possible? You really hate getting all gussied up, eating stupid amounts of sugar and telling tales?

Do you get goosebumps when someone plays with your hair? Are you passionate about what's happening in your life right now- one way or the other, elections to affections to (fun game this rhyming business)?

Do you fall in love slowly? Does it creep into your fingertips and toes innocuously with an easy warmth one day, one week, one year at a time? Does it change the face of a friendship?

Or do you fall in love fast? Is it electric, does it snap you out of a haze you hadn't realized you were in? Does it feel like walking into the first crisp day of spring or fall, when winter doesn't hurt your chest or summer doesn't suffocate? Does it feel like you just learned how to breathe and it may or may not be for all the right reasons?

Where is all this coming from??? Well we're in the ballpark of ToKisstheCook's first anniversary, just past it actually. And I have one hell of a Dear Universe post for that one but for tonight, for the next few days... tell me anything.

Not that I haven't always been curious about you, I do read your blogs after all when that's an option, but I'm now dying to know all sorts of things! I want to know what makes you specifically tick and the kind of thing that makes you laugh out loud when you're by yourself or the kinds of things that are only funny because whoever you're with just can't stop giggling.

I need to stop. I'll stop. But clue me in a little. If you don't want to leave a comment, shoot me an email. It's been a year and I know some of you like family. Some of you are family. But I'm insatiably intrigued to find out what's happening.

It goes like this:

I take strong Peet's French Roast with 1 Splenda and some cream, just like both my parents do except they love the gross powdery stuff. I probably only have coffee 3 days a week and I do not understand scones. They are crumbly and I've yet to have a single scone that matches the buttery, flaked perfection of a proper croissant.

I don't sleep before morning flights so my travel outfits have an "of the moment" quality (ha) and my mom made me a killer vampire costume when I was 9 (considering I'm on my 4th Twilight book in two weeks...appropriate still). All food is comforting to me but especially spaghetti with canned tomatoes and cheddar cheese or mashed potatoes or a gigantic Sugar Shack House Salad.

And what makes the hair on my arms stand up is only one person's business at the moment so it is unfair of me to even ask you that question if I'm only going to snip a response but it's not an unhappy snip. No. It's a passionate snip because yes, I feel strongly about all things these days and its delicious to feel so excited all the time and I like having people around me who feel the same way.

And love? How about both? I tend to know immediately but holy goodnight if I'm not one of the more stubborn people you've ever/ never met. Kinda nice to get the *flash*bang* AND the slow build though...

There are several people who read this blog who are going to think I've gone straight off the deep end but I promise you that I'm no further into the rabbit hole than usual.

So let's have it...your turn now.

I love a big vanilla soy latte extra hot, that or just plain coffee with skim. I don't usually eat anything with the coffee, but I too don't understand scones. I make a list and pack ahead of time because I obsess about forgetting something, my favorite comfort meal is meatloaf and mashed potatoes, I love Halloween. The hair on my arms don't stand up when someone plays with my hair. I am passionate about lots of things right now. I have only fallen in love once and it was instant. It was more like getting hit in the stomach and having the wind knocked out of me, but in a good way. Actually, a very excellent way. I still get that feeling every once in awhile for that person when I am not expecting it. There is more info than you ever needed to know about me. Oh, and I don't think that you have gone off the deep end : )

Love this post! Here goes...

Never had a cup of coffee in my life - I'm a tea girl, with half a Splenda. I pack my bags DAYS in advance, and stare excitedly at the open suitcase lying on the chair in the corner of my bedroom. My comfort food is beef stroganoff, and my favorite costume was when my husband and I dressed up as Priscilla and Elvis. Yes on the goosebumps (especially when I was little and my mom would tickle the inside of my hands when I was sick), and the passion behind being able to quit my job and do THIS is the driving force that gets me out of bed in the morning. I have experienced love both ways, but with my husband it was a slow burning heat that allowed us to learn about friendship first - and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Is there anything you actually don't know about me? Let's see...

Um.

Oh! Here's one. Last year at Bocce, I told everyone that Dave's birthday was the 25th so we could celebrate that day with cake. I was wrong. It's the 27th. He still hasn't gotten over it.

Also, my Brain Age game thinks I'm 47 because I occasionally play it when I'm a little drunk.

You know everything else. :-)

Tall coffee in a Grande cup so I have lots of extra room for at LEAST a half cup’s worth of whole milk (or half & half if I’m feeling frisky.) I’ve just started adding a packet of raw sugar to my coffee-milk concoction, but I don’t even LIKE sugar in my coffee. I think I just like making a mess at the counter.
What do I prefer with my coffee? Croissants or scones? EASY choice. Croissants bore me to tears. I know, I know – how can I pass on the all that buttery, flaky Frenchieness? I don’t know. I just can. They don’t interest me – AT ALL. The worst part about them is how ridiculous I would sound in ordering one. I would either sound like an uneducated rube and pronounce it “cruh-SAWNT” or sound very snooty and pretentious and ask for a “kwah-saw.” They both sound equally absurd, but I never face this dilemma because I don’t order croissants.
Scones, on the other hand, are my vice. Pumpkin ones. Coated in sicky-sweet icing. In cool weather, I wake up wanting one every morning - and fall asleep every night telling myself that tomorrow morning I will end this scone madness and have oatmeal instead. But the next morning, you can find me in line at Starbucks asking for a Tall Pike’s Place in a Grande Cup and a big, fatty Pumpkin Scone.

I love coffee and I like tomix it up, straight coffee with a little skim milk and sugar, lattes, mochas, iced or hot. Yum. Comfort food is chocolate. And potatoes. My favorite Halloween costume is from a few years ago--Dorothy from Wizard of Oz. I like all baked goods one could have with coffee. I love wine, brie, salmon. I ease into love, I ease into any relationship really. It takes me a while to open up, but once I do, it is almost impossible for me to dump people in my life. I'm very loyal. I'm more sensitive than people think.

I don't drink coffee. I drink tea. My favorite kinds of tea are currently chai and plum white tea. I'm also a big fan of blueberry green tea.

I usually stay up all night packing before a trip.

Chocolate is my favorite comfort food, including brownies, hot fudge, and warm chocolate chip cookies. My favorite Halloween costume, as cliche as it may sound, was probably my pirate year. But this might change depending on the day you ask me.

I love Halloween.

I get the best kind of goosebumps when someone plays with my hair, or lightly touches my back, arm, etc. My boyfriend realizes this and uses it when he wants to make up or make me smile.

I'm in love.

It happened slowly.

I'm glad it happened that way.

I like your blog. :)

I have a serious coffee addiction and should probably buy a coffee maker so I stop spending money at Starbucks and Julius Meinl. Usually it's a tall in a grande cup for me, but I long for vanilla lattes in the sluggish afternoon hours.

I pack at the last minute. I hate it. And the minute I arrive somewhere (home or another destination), I have to unpack immediately.

I love fall. I love Halloween. I love the golden crunchy leaves that are all over the sidewalks right now.

I fall in love fast. And then I have to sloooow things down.

But that hasn't happened in awhile.

And i now have my own blog and am moving across the world to Abu Dhabi.
