The Flood

The very minute I published the last post, my landlord frantically knocked on my door. Seeing as I had come up with warm cookies around 9 to find her already turned in for the night, something was obviously up.

The basement had about 2 feet of standing water in it. Her jewelry studio is in the basement.

An hour later with soaked jammies and sore backs, we baled it all out.

Quite the line of summer storms... and that's coming from someone who has personally conjured a few nasty ones.

You are one helluva a tenant. It was a mess last night. I was working at the gym. Just imagine, with those big ass windows. We had to clear people away from them. And on my way home from work? There was a small SUV in front of me and next thing I know, this wave of water was coming OVER the vehicle and landing on my windshield. And then I hit that same ginormous puddle and for a minute, I wondered whether my car was airborne. But, I plowed through somehow, manging to keep my wheels straight and not crashing into anything. Unbelievable!
