Ecstatic Wednesday

I just need to take a moment to recognize that there are lots of very good things on my horizon right now. I'm not gloating, just grateful:
Dave is making dinner for Lisa & I tonight. Dinner may include homemade cupcakes. They're all the rage in the blogosphere lately, you know.

Out with Susie and Chels tomorrow night in Boston!! The pic above is from her trip to Chicago so I think we can expect more of the same on her turf. And I'm so pumped to finally meet Chels! And Sues is letting me crash in B-line! And I'm just way too excited to care that I'm overusing exclamation points and generally sounding like a goober! YAY!! There will be more on this. Expect a post-event release:)

Speaking of Brookline, Friday morning I have my first date with the adorable set of blue eyes known as "Adia," my cousin Susan's one year old. I can't believe it's taken us so long to cross paths as I do love me some children, Boston and family (k, that last one is a little obvious). And she lives walking distance from Sues and her husband is a fabulous cook. All these cooking boys...I need to find one of those. I don't mind sharing the kitchen or the dishes kisses between courses if we're gonna go there.

Then I get to explore my brother's neighborhood, the South End. A new place with cute shops, beautiful row houses... all for me in the middle of a typical work day. This just keeps getting better. And that night I get to see the Brother in his adult habitat and hug Kevin and meet the buddies and go out AGAIN in Boston.

But not out so hard that Brother and I aren't up at first light to drive to the Cape. He tells me we will be listening to Gui Boratto for much of this. I have no qualms with this and my goal is that we arrive at the house early enough to bring muffins from Hole-in-One. Ambitious. Picture above is from my favorite weekend thus far (that's right...in life), Rock the Cod. Me and six of my best girlfriends from college at the Cape our senior year. Remind me to tell you that story some time .

Then we are moving my parents a little bit closer to the next phase...not retired yet but getting there. I haven't seen the cottage since it turned into a house. I'm told it still feels like home but as the only family member who did not see it at all through the renovations...I have some butterflies. If there's still a glass of wine to be had on a porch with the three pictured above, I think that's perfection. God I am so cheesy right now. I'd apologize but, really, why?

The fun doesn't stop when I get home to Chi though...my St. Pats will be spent with another Irish lass at the Jose Gonzalaz concert!!! Finally, I get to see my Swedecrush in person. What's funny is that when I originally heard about him, I blogged it in a Boston post. Now he will be playing in Boston the night I get in and I will see him in Chicago the night I return. Very interesting:)

Thanks for putting up with the CareBear stare. I'm all glowy and on my way out the door to eat a cupcake.

Oh and D just made my afternoon with a fabulously irreverant comment so I will speak for Susie and myself when I say he will be missed from the Chi-fecta.

That guy with his shirt off? Kind of hot. I'd watch him eat a cupcake.

I've got to tell you something. Talking about Boston doesn't usually pull at my heart strings. This post? Made me miss home. A lot. Sounds like you're going to have the perfect balance of fun in the city and chilling on the Cape. sigh Do share a follow-up post and then let's figure out a time we'll both be there this summer. Wait. Maybe we should try to get together in Chicago first. hahaha.

There is a whole cupcake thing going on in the blogosphere lately, isn't there? I need to get in on that.

I've never been to Boston, but I've heard wonderful things.

Have an awesome trip and then come back and tell us more wonderful things. :)

Ex: If you think he's hot now, pick up an album. Yum...

Jenn: Oh the posts are all coming!

Mags: I will tell the story. You would not recognize this house, by the way. We're going to need to christen it all over again:)

Nilsa: I reallllly wish you were in the 'fleet right now and we could grab a coffee at Chocolate Sparrow. You're right though, we need a get together in the second city first!

Cheryl: Any excuse to eat cupcakes is a great one!

Joy: Boston is a great city and HIGHLY compatible with lovers of Chicago. They'd be friends, as cities go.
